Parghelia
It may be of Albanian origins. Founded in the area of Tropea it followed the destiny and the historical events of this village. Destroyed by an earthquake in 1783; it mas then reconstructed but razed to the ground again by an earthquake in 1908. Its present image has been completed in 1926. However there are stili remains of old luxury buildings in witness of the old town. Thanks to its proximity to the sea it is an usual haltingstop for tourists who mostly go to Capo Vaticano. Its beach is characterized by a cliff in the middle of which there is a rock narned "Pizzuta" that draws the attention of the observer because of its characteristic shape and majesty.
